A DJ is holding a charity evening to help raise money for a father with cancer.
Brighton and Hove City Council principal solicitor, Bob Bruce, also promotes charity events under the pseudonym Captain Bob.
His next fund-raiser is tonight in aid of the Neil Cooper Appeal, which is raising money to pay for expensive experimental chemotherapy treatment for father-of-one Mr Cooper.
Mr Cooper, 33, from Portslade, was told in January he had only two months to live after developing cancer in his lungs and renal glands.
His only hope of survival is a trial treatment costing £10,000 a time, which is already showing signs of working.
Mr Bruce became aware of the appeal through The Argus and set about organising a night of rock music with help from Beau Dallon, who runs the Providence Pub in Western Road, Hove.
The evening will kick off at 7pm. Captain Bob will perform two DJ sets and there will be live performances from rock bands Citizens Of Waste, The Stirring and Bowlrider.
Entry is a minimum donation of £1 and all proceeds go to the appeal.
People can pay on the door or get advance tickets from the Providence or receptionists at Kings House, Hove, Brighton Town Hall or Hove Town Hall.
