An appeal to help a father stricken by cancer has now raised more than £52,000.
The money has been pouring in for the Neil Cooper Appeal since it was launched by The Argus at the end of April.
Mr Cooper, 33, from Portslade is recovering from his third course of pioneering chemotherapy, which has already shown signs of working.
He was told in January he only had two months to live after medics discovered cancer affecting his lungs and adrenal glands.
Ordinary chemotherapy was unsuccessful and his only hope of survival was a trial treatment not available on the NHS and which costs £10,000 a time.
A scan last week found that after two cycles of treatment the tumour in his lungs has halved in size and growths in his adrenal glands have also shrunk. The next scan is due to take place in July.
The Argus readers have been determined to help Neil and his wife Wendy, 32, watch their seven-month-old daughter Caitlin grow up together for as long as possible.
Cheques made payable to The Argus can be sent to: The Neil Cooper Appeal, Argus House, Crowhurst Road, Brighton BN1 8AR. You can also donate by credit card. To make a card donation, call Elsa Gillio on 01273 544465 or email elsa.gillio@theargus.co.uk
