The preferred caterers for the American Express Community Stadium at Falmer have been announced.
Brighton and Hove Albion is in talks with Azure Catering about a five-year deal for all hospitality in the £93 million stadium.
Despite no deal being signed, the company has already started recruiting for its key personnel to head up the agreement.
Chief executive Martin Perry said: “We have not signed a contract but I can confirm they are our preferred bidders.
“We cannot comment on how much the deal is worth as that depends on the services they want to provide.”
Mr Perry confirmed a deal is expected to be signed within six weeks.
The French-owned operator, which already caters for rival football clubs Nottingham Forest and Queens Park Rangers, should start work at the venue from June.
