I have heavy periods so I went to a doctor last week. He diagnosed something called menorrhagia. However, he hasn't explained what this disorder is. Can you help?
Menorrhagia is just a word meaning heavy periods so that's not much of a diagnosis I'm afraid.
I suggest you see another doctor, who could try and find out why your periods are heavy, although there may not be any clear-cut cause. However, treatment with tablets which lessen the menstrual blood flow should make life a lot more bearable for you.
