Taxi drivers honoured the cream of their profession at a prestigious dinner.
Scores attended a meal at the Hilton Brighton Metropole on Monday to celebrate winners of the city's best taxi driver competition.
Damian Norman was crowned champion while Jeff Howell and Tony Turner were runners-up.
They were quizzed on their knowledge of the city's roads, routes and history. Their driving skills were also tested.
It was organised to promote the profile of Brighton and Hove's cabbies and generate money for The Argus Appeal, with a total of almost £3,700 raised.
The Argus group editor Michael Beard said: "We are delighted to be involved in this competition and are overwhelmed by the money raised.
"It was a fantastic evening and I would personally like to pay tribute to the generosity of the taxi drivers."
