Around 20 children took part in the Norfolk Square egg hunt organised by Mike Robbins in aid of the Sussex Beacon and took place in front of the Mayor (Councillor Ann Norman), local Cllr's David Watkins & Paul Elgood and many excited parents (and the community reporters from the Argus).
After the square was checked and then checked again, the proceedings moved to Western Street for the Easter bonnet procession from the Grosvenor Tavern to Bedford tavern in front of the Mayor.
The contestants (and one dog) were cheered on their way by a crowd of around 100 well wishers. The children's competition was so hard to judge that a tie was declared and all children received a prize.
The adult competition was just as hard and the outright winners were one man and his dog (John and Princess).
After the Mayor took her leave, the customary "drag" and spoon race then took place. With no clear winner being announced, it was on to either of the two supporting taverns for refreshment.
