Having been a resident of Hove for nearly 40 years, I have often enjoyed the beach adjacent to Basin Road South, close to Carats Cafe.
I have been aware that, behind the sea wall, certain sun worshippers use the seclusion as an unofficial naturist's beach.
Not my cup of tea but, due to the protection of the sea wall, they are hidden from sight.
However, last summer, I noticed the emergence of somewhat more brazen so-called naturists who not only used beaches towards the cafe but also took a more obvious stance with their naturism.
matter discreet.
They are in full view of the road, passing traffic and cyclists. Furthermore, these more brazen naturists appear to attract a different type of beach user and one that for a family area should be discouraged at all costs.
I always thought walking or even standing around naked was an act of indecent exposure.
I wonder what action the local authority or, indeed, the police intend to take.
