Before there is a "crackdown" on drivers who park on pavements, could I ask the decision-makers to drive up Hangleton Road from the A27 and see for themselves what would be the likely effects if all cars now sensibly parked partly on pavements were to be placed completely in the road.
Drivers have wisely done this in order to avoid inevitable traffic holdups had they not done so.
There may well be places where moving cars on to the road would have no effect on traffic flow but this measure should be introduced with discrimination.
When I visit my daughter in an Outer London borough there are white lines painted on pavements showing drivers where they may legally park the car, thus allowing traffic to flow through - without causing pedestrian obstruction
