How arrogant of Des Turner to assert a local government officer "must have lead a sheltered life" to not be used to being sworn at.
It reflects poorly on Mr Turner's idea of acceptable behaviour.
He should be above reproach.
If he thinks it is acceptable to swear on behalf of a constituent, surely he does not deserve to represent society at large. That he would only apologise because the House of Commons would otherwise get awkward further underlines his refusal to accept his behaviour was wrong.
If he does not appreciate he was wrong and feels this was appropriate, perhaps he should consider if he really is fit to serve.
