Eastbourne Eagles are hoping they have come up with a new crowd-puller at Arlington.
Eagles promoter Jon Cook reckons Sunday's round of the Silkolene Short Track UK Championship, staged at the Sussex track, brought in a gate similar to what speedway would attract on a Friday night.
That was despite a low turnout from regular speedway fans.
Cook, who attended as an interested spectator, said: "I really enjoyed it. I felt it was a good product that, in time, will be successful.
"I would certainly not rule out them coming back to Arlington.
"It was striking that the crowd was mostly made up of motorcycle enthusiasts rather than speedway fans."
Marco Belli, the sport's answer to Jason Crump, won the event. Eagles star Lewis Bridger fared well in the qualifying heats, going through with the fourth highest score.
Bridger, on his debut in the sport, finished sixth in the final, one place behind former Eagle Andrew Moore.
