Having just received a newsletter about the transfer of council housing stock, for a moment I thought I was reading propaganda from our old friend, William Joyce (Lord Haw Haw), until I remembered he has been dead for years.
Instead, the propaganda is from Brighton and Hove City Council and its apparent aim is to frighten tenants into voting in favour of what the council wants orchestrated by the Government.
If the housing stock is transferred to housing associations, the Government will plough in an extra £195 million.
Why can't it do the same if housing stock is kept in council ownership?
After all, the Government takes a substantial revenue from council house rents.
It's the same difference. It's up to the tenants to vote no.
Let us have less propaganda. Let's be honest, have the truth and not be held to ransom.
