Brighton Animal Action has manned a stall at the Palace Pier every weekend (The Argus, July 25).
However, far from being extremists, we are a peaceful, law-abiding group of people who have had fantastic support, not only from the residents of Brighton but also many visitors from abroad.
Handing out leaflets and asking for signatures is entirely lawful.
Even if Toby Forer may not like it, we do live in a democracy and we have the right to protest and alert the public to what we regard is a cruel and unnecessary exploitation of animals.
Interestingly, the majority of people who spoke to us at our stalls said they would not visit the Sealife Centre as they did not approve of keeping animals in the conditions which existed there.
Alas, I'm afraid Mr Forer hasn't quite seen the last of us yet.
We are not going to turn our backs on Lulu, a turtle captured from the wild in the Forties and presently living in an underground prison, denied even natural light.
The Born Free Foundation has said it will arrange for Lulu to live in a more suitable environment, should the Sealife Centre agree to part with her.
Have a heart, Mr Forer. Lulu needs to be set free.
