If it hadn't been for Andy Weatherall, Primal Scream might have been little more than a whisper.
His influence in producing the band's seminal LP Screamadelica was such that the band themselves were almost reduced to session musicians.
Along with his mate Paul Oakenfold, Weatherall pioneered indie-dance crossover music.
It's a surprise, then, to experience the man himself on the decks offering up pretty pedestrian deep house for most of the night.
Still, the lack of slam-dunk breaks and beats didn't bother the crowd at Concorde 2 and it was good to see glowsticks on the dance floor again.
Things didn't kick off until midnight so it was slightly disappointing to see the lights go up just four hours later.
Weatherall may be a dance music legend, but it just didn't feel like it on Saturday night.
