I was interested to see the picture and read the article regarding the award given to St Ann's Well Gardens (The Argus, July 22).
It would certainly not have won any prizes last Saturday morning when I walked through there at 8.45am.
The picnic area opposite the cafe was a tip. There were two green-and-white flags, one on the ground and one on a table, surrounded by various sorts of litter, bottles strewn here and there and a couple asleep next to the public toilets a heavy night by the look of it.
Why, oh why, when there are so many litter bins about, do some people find it impossible to place their rubbish in these receptacles?
St Ann's is our little green haven, enjoyed by many people.
Why is it a few people always have to ruin it?
