In response to Kim Geary's comments about the cost of parking in NCP's Church Street car park during a recent trip to the theatre (Letters, July 25), it appears Kim is not aware of the various promotions NCP runs in conjunction with venues and hotels in Brighton which can significantly reduce the cost of parking.
In the case of the Theatre Royal, for instance, where I assume Kim was heading, theatre-goers can buy a pre-booked parking ticket at the time they order their tickets from the box office, which gives six hours of parking for just £5.
A validation machine in the theatre can also be used to pay for discounted parking at the rate of £6 for six hours.
Both discounts compare very well with the normal tariff at Church Street.
NCP offers similar deals with The Dome and The Komedia venues, along with many of Brighton's hotels, and we would suggest anyone driving into the city for a night out should check if they can benefit from cheaper parking with the venue they are headed to.
