Reading about ragwort in your letter columns, reminded me of destroying this deadly plant more than fifty years ago.
I worked on the Cissbury Farm at Findon and in early spring we spent hours in the parkland and on the hill with hoes chopping the young plants off before they came into flower.
The cattle were very inquisitive. This particular bullock always insisted on saying good morning.
