Storming through their UK tour, this indie-electro outfit formed from the ashes of The Fingerprints in January 2005 and have been dubbed "the best new band in Britain" by the NME.
Theirs is a fresh sound, which includes strong vocal harmonies and quirky synth lines - or, as they put it, like "Rob Smith, Paul Weller, Karl Bartos, Alexis Taylor, Jeff Buckley, Chaka Khan and Harry Potter drinking crazy juice together".
This tour includes a string of festival appearances all over Europe.
This sound, influenced by Kraftwerk, Pulp, Talking Heads and Hot Chip, has landed them a juicy slot on the Carling stage at Reading and Leeds Festivals, as well as supports slots with artists including Art Brut and The Rakes.
The Magic Numbers professed their admiration and personally invited the band to join them for a show in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Towards the end of last year, things really started taking off. Debut single Walk With Me came out in April as a one-off on Transgressive Records Their self-released EP Valves & Robots sold out and they began work on their debut album. It's not out until next year but, in the meantime, you can hear regular updates on their myspace site, including a cover of The Mystery Jets' You Can't Fool Me Dennis. It's a grower.
Big fans of Brighton, the band have previously played the Komedia and head down here on their days off.
