I am angry and disappointed that ongoing refuse issues in and around Abbey Road in Kemp Town have still not been properly addressed, despite months of complaints by residents.
Regular fly-tipping and waste being put out on the wrong days seem to be given low priority.
There is frequent spillage after rubbish collection - and street cleaners seem more interested in listening to their iPods than attending to their work.
The pavement is covered with weeds and the area is plagued by gulls, pigeons, foxes and rats all within yards of the Royal Sussex County Hospital.
Following a lengthy and, at first, promising consultation, Brighton and Hove City Council officers agreed the provision of a communal bin at the top of Abbey Road would solve most of these problems and save a great deal of money in the long term (even taking into account the loss of a couple of parking spaces). However, all attempts to resolve these matters have failed.
