Recently, Brighton and Hove City Council has arranged for footway crossings to be installed along Old London Road, Patcham. The one I hope to use is opposite Audrey Close.
Alas, on two out of three recent attempts, it has been blocked by a passenger car.
I have spoken to the police who say, unless the crossing has been marked with white lines, no offence has been committed.
I have since written to the council suggesting that, unless the task is finished by the addition of white lines, a large sum of taxpayers' cash has been wasted.
Needless to say, I have had no reply.
