A man has been charged with a public order offence after a protest outside a tennis match between Great Britain and Israel.
Christopher Alan Osmond, 26, of Eaton Gardens, Hove, was arrested outside the Davis Cup match at Devonshire Park, Eastbourne, on Saturday.
He is due to appear at Eastbourne Magistrates Court today charged with an offence under the Public Order Act.
Police said there was a mainly peaceful demonstration by about 30 people to highlight the ongoing conflict between Israel and Lebanon.
Officers confiscated a loudhailer from the group which was causing sound disruption to the performance of West Side Story at the nearby Congress Theatre.
There was no disruption to the tennis and the protesters were allowed to convey their message to those who wished to listen.
Acting Chief Inspector Dick Coates said: "I was more than happy with the policing of the event and the demonstration.
"Police officers liaised early on with the organisers of the demonstration to facilitate all views."
