Brighton and Hove is not on the shortlist of proposed venues for the UK's first Las Vegas-style super casino.
The city was given 42 out of 80 marks by the Casino Advisory Panel, based on eight criteria which each attracted ten marks.
The Millenium Dome in Greenwich is the front runner with 67 points, followed by Glasgow with 66, Blackpool with 65 and Sheffield with 62.
Brent, in London, and Newcastle both got 58 points and Cardiff and Manchester both got 57.
It is accepting further submissions until August 14 but only non-shortlisted local authorities which previously entered may respond.
The panel will announce the successful super-casino venue by the end of the year.
It will name the venues for eight large and eight small casinos at the same time.
