Brighton Society committee members are concerned illustrations to the article "Saving our City or Bottling the City in Aspic" (The Argus, July 15) may have given the impression of a negative group.
We objected to early schemes for the new library, a positive move because it led to the award-winning library we have now.
We worked with the Regency Society and the architect to improve the design of the Van Allen building.
The tower on the marina development was beautifully designed but we were concerned about its impact on the Kemp Town Estate.
We worked with English Heritage to get the plan to demolish the Parochial Offices called in for a public enquiry, which achieved the preservation of that building.
The society has not yet discussed the i360 but we support good design in both old and new buildings.
