Andy Murray last night declared the Eastbourne supporters "the best Davis Cup crowd I've played in front of".
Murray was roared to a five-set victory over Andy Ram to level the European/African Group One tie at 1-1 after Alex Bogdanovic's straight sets loss in the opening rubber to Noam Okun.
The British No. 1 said: "They were great. People asked, Why Eastbourne?'.
"They didn't think it would be good. But that was definitely the best Davis Cup crowd I have played in front of. They were really noisy. Almost noisier than Wimbledon and I was really chuffed at their support."
Murray and Jamie Delgado are poised to face Ram and Jonathan Erlich in front of another vociferous Centre Court crowd at Devonshire Park this afternoon.
