A mother who escaped war-torn Beirut with her fivemonth- old triplets has spoken of her joy and relief to be back home in Brighton.
Elise Mazegi, 32, and her babies were among the first Britons to be evacuated from Lebanon after becoming trapped in the escalating Israeli conflict.
Mrs Mazegi, triplets Isabella, Yasmina and Joey and their two-year-old brother Dani flew into Gatwick at 3am yesterday to be reunited with the children's father Fadi, a Belgium-based businessman.
The family endured an 11-hour voyage to Cyprus on HMS Gloucester before being flown home on an RAF plane.
Mrs Mazegi had jetted to Lebanon for a holiday last October but after discovering she was pregnant doctors advised her not to travel back.
Mrs Mazegi, who is staying with her mother in Surrenden Crescent, said: "It's so good to be back and see my mum, who has never seen the triplets, but we're all exhausted. Until this week the babies had never been out of the house. Now they've been on buses, ships and planes."
