Your coverage of the heatwave (The Argus, July 19) has highlighted particular problems faced by homeless men and women.
Our day centre in Montpelier Place has handed out more than 1,000 litres of bottled water to those who have limited access to clean drinking water and provided them with suncream, as homeless people have fewer opportunities to get out of the sun.
This is costing a small fortune. We are grateful for a generous donation from Des Turner, one of our local MPs, towards the cost of water and suncream.
I would appeal for more financial support from the public so we can continue to provide water and suncream to homeless people for as long as necessary.
