Simone Depauw's comment is outrageous (Letters, July 12). While I can understand people's objections to the building of a "skyscraper" at Brighton Marina, to suggest such a building will provoke a repeat of 9/11 in Brighton is ridiculous, not to mention insensitive.
If the project was cancelled for such a reason, where would it end? Would it bring an end to life with tall buildings? Somehow, I doubt it.

So Brighton is going to have the largest building, or should I say the tallest, in Sussex.
Oh yes, it may survive a tidal wave of severe force, especially if you're on the top floor but, in these days of terrorism, what a great target for a suicide pilot.
It beggars belief they intend to build very tall buildings in the US to replace the World Trade Centre, destroyed in the 9/11 catastrophe.
ALL these controversial decisions being made by Brighton and Hove City Council makes me wonder how many of the councillors are actually home-grown.
I would have thought the percentage is quite low.
No local person would vote on such a scale to ruin our city.
