Unlike Buddy, which featured here a couple of weeks ago, this show has no storyline and makes no apologies for the fact.
It is unashamedly an all-singing, all-dancing, non-stop compilation show which celebrates the songs of Abba. It also pays homage to some of the other disco songs of the Seventies.
The best of these being exciting versions of YMCA and In The Navy, with the accompanying choreography of rhythmic Irish tap dancing.
The rest of the dance numbers range from the naff and slightly self-conscious to the full-blooded raunchiness of Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!
However, using 16 dancers, who work their socks off all evening, proves to be a bit of a handicap at times as they appear to be cramped for space on the small stage.
Noting that next week's show is entitled Dancing In The Streets, this one could well have been billed as Dancing In Their Underwear to reflect the minimalist costumes used. This aspect alone is guaranteed to make a lot of other old men happy!
But it is the songs which carry the evening, with four talented vocalists representing Abba rather than impersonating them. By the end of the evening, Kate Galston, Adam Hills, Kimberley Payne and David Wyatt have the audience up on their feet, singing and dancing in the aisles.
The evening is one of nostalgia with fun, camp and glitter in abundance.
The downside, for those of us who believe there should be live music in theatres, is the use of pre-recorded backing tapes.
