How can the police just accept drink/drive convictions should be quashed because of their incorrect procedures (The Argus, July 3)? Surely it is up to the criminal to appeal and prove that the blood tests carried out by qualified nurses gave incorrect results, and it is up to the court to decide for or against.

Why does our legal system lean over backwards to clear potential killers, to the distress of their victims?
