I don't agree the return of the Dome's organ was unwelcome (The Argus, July 11) and neither did the audience who, as Mike Howard acknowledged, gave "rapturous applause to each number".

If he couldn't find anything complimentary to say , the least he could have done was not to make unjustified, inaccurate and negative comments.

This instrument's restoration is an achievement worthy of praise in itself, and the performers last Sunday rank among the best.

Organ music, like opera, is not everyone's cup of tea. Luckily, as you become an adult your tastes change and you learn to appreciate more. Listening to the live instrument is nothing like the truncated sounds of the old wireless set and if he can't tell the difference between flutes and percussion, perhaps he should go for a hearing test. Printing comments of this nature offends a lot of hard-working people and enthusiasts who do like organ music.

In Sussex, we are lucky both to have some of most distinctive instruments in the country and to attract the foremost exponents to regularly entertain people who appreciate both.
