Albion are furious with Swindon Town after the League Two outfit pulled out of a pre-season date.

Dennis Wise was due to bring the Robins for the summer's only friendly at Withdean.

They have now pulled out of the game, on July 28, so they can concentrate on playing Reading.

The news came less than 24 hours after Albion announced a reduction in ticket prices for the game in a bid to entice a decent attendance.

Albion chief executive Martin Perry said: "Swindon did what we didn't do. We arranged the game with Swindon and we were then offered another fixture with a Championship club which we turned down on the basis of reaching an agreement with Swindon.

"Sadly it seems Swindon were not so honourable.

"What they did was to get an offer which to them is better and ditch us. I think that is very unsatisfactory behaviour."

Perry admitted Albion would find it difficult to arrange an alternative fixture.

The game at Le Havre a week tomorrow now looks to be by far Albion's toughest friendly.

The club have put together a travel package for fans going to France, comprising coach travel, match ticket, two nights' accommodation, breakfast and a visit to Honfleur and Bologne, for £135.
