If the Queen and the Royal Family only cost each taxpayer 62p a year, they are great value for money (The Argus, June 29).
The total cost of the monarchy rose by 4.2 per cent to £37.4 million last year. We could not have a president for much less.
Although more money is needed to maintain the royal palaces, a small increase in their budget would set them on a solid footing.
The Royal Family are loved all around the world and bring in millions as a tourist attraction.
Long may they reign.
