Sadly, there has been yet another accident resulting in death on the A23 at Pyecombe.
Why do people call this area an accident blackspot?
They want the road straightened but most accidents are caused by human error. Would straightening the road prevent all these accidents?
I don't think so.
Please let's all drive with due care and attention, thinking about speed, road conditions and our own abilities as drivers.
Don't blame the road - the road doesn't change and thousands of drivers use it safely every day. It is us, the drivers, who change. We all need to look at the way we drive, because we, not the road, cause the accidents and, unfortunately, the deaths.
If we all drove in straight lines, would this stop accidents? If it did, then heaven help us - either we should all be off the road or our cars should run on rails.
