Every day I was in Brighton, I read about drivers of motor cars who had hit trees, telephone poles, houses, motor cars, and other people.

But the English do not write to the newspaper to demand tougher driving exams and more police on roads.

Instead, they are concerned they might be hit by cyclists who ride on pavements. But how many have been hurt by cyclists? Is the hospital full of victims?

I find this strange. In Belgium, we prefer cyclists because they are not responsible for hurting people the way car drivers can be.

It is your drivers who frighten me.
