A date has been set to discuss the pulling down of the wrecked remains of the West Pier.
English Heritage are working with engineers, the West Pier trust and Brighton and Hove City Council to decide what can be saved of the historic city landmark.
They will meet tomorrow morning to discuss the Grade I-listed building.
The West Pier Trust, which owns the pier, has drafted in engineer John Orrell to remove the rusting structure which once stood as the concert hall.
It has become a hazardous scrapheap since an arson attack in 2003.
Dr Geoff Lockwood, chief executive of the trust, said it was a necessary safety measure which would be financed by the planned Brighton Eye.
He said: "We're looking at the best way of removing the wreckage.
"The idea is we get it removed while we are building the Brighton Eye."
They estimated the work would cost up to £300,000.
