Simon Fanshawe was right to congratulate Selma Montford on her MBE (Letters, June 22).
I have worked with her and the Brighton Society on conserving the architectural heritage of this area since I was borough planning officer of Brighton more than 30 years ago.
More recently, Selma and her society have supported my HOVA Group campaign against the most unfortunate King Alfred proposals.
Her honour for her long service to Brighton is thoroughly deserved.
