I had to laugh at Bob Potter's idea that children today are too affluent to pick up a bag of coins containing 98p from the pavement (Letters, June 22). Did he not think perhaps today's kids would be too frightened to pick it up.
It might have been a CCTV trap and, if they had picked it up, they might then have been arrested for stealing some of an absent-minded OAP's disposable income (their bingo or cigarette money).
