Alan Goss praises the police for their handling of the World Naked Bike Ride (Letters, June 23) but he himself says the police van in which he got a lift home contained "stacked riot shields".
What, I ask, were they for? I still think at least some of the ten officers I saw on the day would have been better employed sorting out crimes.
