WJ Mcilroy disapproves of the flag because St George was foreign and never came here (Letters, June 20).

St Andrew never went to Scotland, either, but no one seems to mention that.

England has no separate Parliament, uses the United Kingdom's anthem and its emblem has been hijacked by the Labour Party so, please, leave the flag alone.

Other countries fly their flags without being expected to wallow in guilt about it.

It is a mistake to allow the politically correct brigade to undermine the nation's self-esteem.

Sometimes, criticism can stem from envy.

There can be worse things than empires - just ask the unfortunate people of Zimbabwe who come here to get away from their own regime which is systematically ruining their country.
