In reference to my previous letter about our cat, Dolly, being hit by a car and left in the street, I wanted to update you on her progress.
Dolly is home now and, thankfully, does not need an operation.
She will need at least the next six weeks to recover and is obviously missing the outside.
Although she is still bruised and has lost a lot of weight, she will recover.
We are, of course, very happy about that but, at the same time, still sad as she never should have had to go through this in the first place.
I would like to thank The Argus for printing my letter and repeat my plea to all drivers.
If you hit an animal, get help. Don't leave it in pain to possibly die of its injuries.
I would also like to thank the PDSA in Brighton for the care, medicine, and follow-up appointments Dolly has had and will still need. The PDSA relies on donations of any kind, whether they be money, animal food or blankets.
Without support and donations, the PDSA would not be able to help animals and the owners who cannot afford to pay vet bills.
In Dolly's case, this was £480.53p and still mounting.
We have made our donation and are very grateful to all PDSA workers in the Brighton hospital.
If you are interested in making a donation or wish to find out how you can help and the services the PDSA can provide, this is its web address www.pdsa.org.co.uk
