It was great to read in The Argus (June 21) how proposals for restoring the rail services between Uckfield and Lewes are looking their most promising for years.
We all want to see as many journeys made by public transport as possible.
Partnership working can achieve that, as has been shown by the year-on-year increases in bus use in the city and improvements such as real-time bus information and accessible bus stops etc.
This chance to improve rail links in Sussex for the benefit of villages, towns and our city is one we must all grab .
Wouldn't it be fantastic to have it in place for the Olympics?
