One can't help but be amused at the thought of cyclists using the road for their intended purpose: "Cyclist uses road, shock".

However, more seriously, why don't they use the cycle lanes provided? It's because pedestrians keep abusing them when they ride "on the pavement" even when it's a designated lane.

True, some cyclists don't do themselves any favours by ignoring red lights and traffic signs and then abusing the vehicle drivers who almost run them down. Some seem oblivious to the fact that riding a bike without lights when it's dark is just as likely to get you run down I've missed two so far.

Ride nude if you like but make sure you stick to the rules of the road and can be seen. It's your life you are playing with.
