Big personality, big mouth, big laugh - it's no wonder Gina Yashere is always on the roll-call for makers of "100 Greatest" countdown-type shows.
A ballsy performer, her commanding, no-nonsense style makes her an undisputed crowd-pleaser.
She is touring with her new show, which has already taken her to Singapore, where she entertained a bunch of ex-pats.
"I had a great time but couldn't help but notice the number of aesthetically-challenged, pot-bellied men with the most gorgeous, young Singaporean women," she recalls. "One guy of 62 was about to marry a 23-year-old who was younger than his own daughter - and he was stupid enough to sit in the front row at my show."
The tour, much of which has sold out, got off to a cracking start in Derby: "It was packed with a fantastic bunch of people who laughed so much, I called the police to have them drug-tested on the way out.
"There were sufficient freaks in the audience to have fun with - for instance the Dutchman who came to Derby as a missionary. I told him he was no longer needed, as Derby has electricity and the black people now have jobs and shoes."
Starts 8pm, tickets £12 and £10. Call 01273 647100.
