So, despite thousands of letters of protest from residents young and old, objections from governors and headteachers from local schools, objections from local businesses and even objections from many of their own councillors, Brighton and Hove City Council has seen fit to approve the planning application for the waste transfer facility (WTF) at Hollingdean Lane.
Surely, and most seriously, this indicates a breakdown in local democracy. I think it is time for some Government intervention.
