Do cyclists have no respect for the law and traffic signs?
I am not saying they are all the same but a fair number ignore No Cycling signs on the King's Esplanade and one-way-street signs, ride on the pavement and down George Street without respect for pedestrians, ignore traffic lights, crossing them at red, and ride at night without lights.
I have personally been verbally abused by one who rode across the lights at Church Road, narrowly missing my car. If I had knocked him off, it most probably would have appeared in the paper with the headline "Motorist runs down cyclist".
The council has spent a great deal of taxpayers' money on bike lanes to ensure the safety of cyclists. Why don't they all use them?
