Small businesses are being urged to sign up for a scheme which could cut their rates bills by up to £2,500.
Only 39 per cent of small businesses in Rother have applied for the Government's small business rate relief scheme.
It was introduced in April last year but £400 million has been left unclaimed in England, with only 48 per cent of businesses signing up.
In Rother, only 1,258 firms have joined the scheme.
Rother District Council sends out application forms to eligible businesses with the rate bill and is urging people to find out what they are entitled to.
