I hope your usually wonderful paper realises that, by giving publicity to the idiots who jump from the pier every summer, it is compounding the problem, because that is just what they want.

May I suggest all efforts to rescue them when they get into trouble are stopped.

Let a few drown. Perhaps then those remaining will think twice.
