Having spent the last three decades living virtually hand to mouth in Montreal, Simon Finn was until recently utterly oblivious to the fact his debut album, shadowy psyche folk masterpiece Pass The Distance, had become something of a cult classic.
It was recorded in London in 1969, but was withdrawn from the market shortly after it was released due to legal wranglings regarding the record sleeve.
Neverthless, the album quietly gathered momentum on its own, until three years ago when Current 93's David Tibet sent him a letter outlining plans to reissue it on his Durtro label.
Now, like Vashti Bunyan and Terry Callier, Simon Finn is finally getting the attention he deserves with a new album called Magic Moments, also released on Durtro. A distinguished musician, his sensitive, acoustic compositions promise to captivate and inspire.
Starts 8pm. Tickets cost £6 and £5. Call 01273 325440
