Mark Robinson today told Sussex followers: "We've got the big-game players to get to Lord's."

The county will reach their first major final in 13 years if they beat Hampshire in a day/night C&G Trophy showdown at Hove on Friday (2.40pm).

It promises to be one of the biggest games at the old ground in years.

Robinson is convinced his men can finish the qualification job without having to win their last south conference game wih Gloucestershire at Arundel a week on Sunday.

Sussex's cricket manager said: "It's an exciting prospect for the club but we have won nothing yet.

"It will be big game on Friday and there will be a big crowd but that's the kind of situation we want be in.

"There's no need to be nervous about it. We've got people like Chris Adams, Mushtaq Ahmed, Matt Prior, Murray Goodwin. These are big-game players who are made for this sort of occasion.

"We need one win from two games but we want to put it to bed on Friday."

Sussex expect to be at full strength on Friday, with the squad including new signing Yasir Arafat, whose paperwork is being processed. The county face Lashings at Eastbourne tomorrow in a Twenty20 contest as part of James Kirtley's benefit year.
