I felt moved to write regarding the article about the opera singer singing in the streets to inform people about the dangers of tuberculosis (The Argus, June 6).
My father recently died of the disease, which went undiagnosed until two days before his death.
He suffered terribly and his family and friends are devastated.
TB is a silent killer - my father was a white, middle-class man from Sussex - not the "typical" victim. No doubt the message will be ignored, sung or not. However, everyone needs to be made much more aware of this disease so they won't have to go through the trauma my family is dealing with.
