Extra tickets have been released for a one-off gig by a musical superstar.

It is seven months since all 18,000 tickets sold out for the Elton John concert at Sussex County Cricket Club, which will take place on Sunday, June 25.

Now the club in Eaton Road, Hove, has confirmed it has been able to release a limited number of hospitality packages which include premium seats.

These additional tickets will be sold on a first-come first-served basis.

The phone lines opened to sell the ordinary tickets on November 28 at 9am.

By lunchtime 10,000 had been sold.

The gig will be the biggest all-ticket music event staged in Sussex. The capacity of the cricket club will be tripled Stage construction and pitch-covering is due to begin on Thursday, June 22.

In three days more than 100 tonnes of steel will be brought in for hundreds of crew hands to build an 18,000-seater arena.

Gates on the day will open to ticket-holders at about 2pm with music beginning at 3.45pm. Audience members are asked to be in their seats 15 minutes before the start. The music will finish at about 7.45pm.

A park-and-ride service will run from Mill Road, starting at 12.30pm with the last bus setting off from the club at 9.30pm.

The car park will shut at 10pm.

There is no charge for parking but a return bus ticket will cost £1.
